Volume two of Channel Four's TV themes album. This one features music from The
Waltons, I'll Fly Away, Northern Exposure, Land Of The Giants,
Dream On, Mork & Mindy, Blossom (shame that Dr. John doesn't
sing on it), The Munsters, Evening Shade, A Different World,
Hogan's Heroes, Barney Miller, Little House On The Prairie, The
Street, Johnny Staccato, Eerie, Indiana, Family Ties and The
Waltons Reprise.
I usually don't like doing listings for albums, but in this case I think
it 's needed as you can't really review each track as you would a band, or a rock
compilation. You either know the theme tune, or you don't. Some of the music is okay
on its own, but the Mork & Mindy and 'Waltons' themes just keep conjuring
up various images of odd aliens and even odder kids. I know there are people out there
who enjoy collecting various TV themes, so this album will be a positive boon.
