Against The Law

81 minutes (15) Warner
Director: Jim Wynorski
review by Rob Marshall

From the director of recent SF actioner, Storm Trooper, this offbeat crime drama sees Richard (Teen Agent) Grieco acting out his cowboy gunslinger fantasies on a cop-killing spree in modern LA. Nick Mancuso plays the middle-aged metro detective who becomes wild man Grieco's target following a heroic shootout with vicious gangs. A two-tone script contrasts the villain's singular quest for media stardom with the troubled cop's more complex response to urban violence. Not really a film with much honest social comment in spite of its intriguing premise, Against The Law is nonetheless an entertaining hour.
