DOWSE Guide to the Movies
by Tony Lee editor of Pigasus Press

Lost & Found

Director: Jeff Pollack
96minutes (12) Warner
review by Rob Marshall

Lame romantic comedy with a plotline that's about as straight as a big dog's hind leg. Witless 'Romeo' David Spade kidnaps new neighbour Sophie Marceau's terrier, Jack, just so he has an excuse to chat her up. When said pet swallows a ring, causing Spade endless problems and the girl's jealous boyfriend appears, out would-be restaurateur hero finds all his plans to woo his dream-date look hopeless. Quite what Martin Sheen is doing in this feeble mess (did he lose a bet?), and how the non-arrival of Neil Diamond at the big party finale fits into Spade's scheme, you'll have to see this to find out. One for Marceau's fans only, honest!
